L1 Arborist Rigging Applications for Climbers and Aerial Lift Users - 3 Days

3-Day Module

This course is designed for an arborist using climbing lines and saddles and aerial lift users

Prerequisites:

    For Climbers:

  • L1 Tree Climbing Methods & L1 Precision Tree Felling

    For Aerial Lift Users:

  • L1 Precision Tree Felling


Course Description

Traditional as well as new energy efficient, low impact, methods of rigging are taught. Emphasis is placed on the most productive tools and techniques in order to reduce the risk of accidents. Discover and learn to manage the forces involved in rigging operations, and working with rigging plans and processes. Students will learn, develop skills and measure their own results.

What to Bring

Students are encouraged to bring any equipment they use and/or would like to discuss with the instructor.


However it is required that students bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Personal Climbing Equipment as outlined below.  If you do not have the necessary climbing equipment, please inform our office prior to coming to class.


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required

  • Hard hat
  • Ear protection
  • Eye protection
  • Work gloves
  • Work boots
  • Chain saw protective pants or chaps


Personal Gear Required

  • Climbing harness with work positioning lanyard
  • Climbing line
  • Climbing spurs (spikes)



Please note: 

You are welcome to bring your own chainsaw; however, it is not necessary to the course, as we will have saws on hand for the student’s use.



Classes will take place rain or shine.  We suggest that before departing for your program, that you check the extended forecast for the area that the training will be held. If rain is at all forecasted, we recommend that you bring appropriate rain gear, thermal undergarments if in a colder climate and a change of clothing on the day of the class.
